Default I-864 form

I will be unable to support my fiance so my mother is going to go ahead and co sign stating that her income will be used as well but while looking over the form I am confused on something,, it says

what if I cannot meet the income requirements?

says they will be denied unless the requirement can be met using any combination of the following, then two of the four might work but there is a problem the two that should work are

income from any relative or dependent living in your household (my mom's income)

then another one is

a joint sponsor whose income and/or assets equal at least 125 % of the poverty guidelines

```````````
problem is I would rather have the first one not the second one, I don't want my mother to have to do the joint sponsor, I just want her as a co signer but I don't know if that is the same thing
also it said we would have to fill out a I-864a form, but I am confused does she need to fill that out a I-864 form too? or is that for joint sponsors only?
